FootRank ("we", "us", "the app") is a 5-a-side football ranking and matchmaking application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, username, email address, and (if you choose) profile photo. When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider to create your account.
• Contact information: your mobile number, which is required to create an account. It's used to keep one account per person, and it's shared only with the captain of a team you have a confirmed match against, so the two of you can coordinate. Each mobile number can only be linked to one FootRank account.
• Profile & gameplay data: preferred position, city, team membership, match results, ratings (Pitch Power), reliability and behavior scores.
• Content you create: teams, match requests, court preferences, scores, and behavior reports.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To match teams, schedule matches, suggest a court, and calculate rankings.
• To send match-related notifications.
• To keep the service fair and secure (e.g. dispute handling).
• To operate and improve the app, including automated analysis of aggregate app data (see "Sharing" below).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your name, photo, position, city, team, and ratings are visible to other FootRank users as part of the app's social and ranking features. We use the following service providers to operate the app:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Firebase — push notifications.
• Anthropic — our internal operations dashboard uses Anthropic's Claude models to help us analyze app data (e.g. usage trends, data quality, dispute patterns) so we can run and improve the service. This is an internal tool operated by us, not a public-facing feature, and is not used to make automated decisions about individual users.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and data yourself at any time from Profile → Delete Account, or contact us at the email below for any other request.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time in the app (Profile → Delete Account), which removes your account, profile, and any team you captain immediately. You can also request deletion by contacting us at the email below; we will remove your personal data within 30 days.

What we keep after you delete your account

When an account is deleted we retain one limited record, so that penalties and sanctions can't be avoided simply by deleting an account and signing up again. That record contains:

• A one-way, salted cryptographic hash of your email address and mobile number. We do not keep the email address or the number itself. A hash cannot be read, dialled, emailed, or used to contact you — it can only be compared against a value someone enters later to tell whether that identity has been used on FootRank before.
• Your final gameplay standing: Pitch Power, reliability and behavior scores, matches played, dispute count, and whether the account was flagged.

If you later create a new account with the same email address or mobile number, that standing is restored to the new account. It is only ever applied in a way that can't improve the new account's position — an account can never gain an advantage from being deleted and recreated.

Legal basis. This is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in preventing fraud and abuse and in keeping competition fair, as recognised in Recital 47 GDPR. We keep only a hash rather than the underlying details so that the data is the minimum needed for this purpose.

Retention period. This record is automatically and permanently deleted 24 months after the account is deleted.

Your rights. You may object to this processing under Article 21 GDPR by contacting us at the email below. Note that because this record exists specifically to prevent evasion of penalties, we may decline an objection where there are compelling legitimate grounds to keep it — for example, where the account was flagged or sanctioned. If your account was in good standing, we will remove the record on request.

Security

Access to your data is protected with industry-standard authentication and row-level security. Sign-in is handled by trusted providers (Supabase Auth, Google, Apple, Facebook).

Age requirement

FootRank is intended for users aged 16 and over (see our Terms of Service for the full eligibility rule). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
